It’s no secret that Barcelona is a huge city, so getting around definitely takes some planning! With that being said, there were plenty of options; both affordable and pricey, so a little research could save you lots of money! Here’s all the options with an idea of prices, and how to save a little money along the way…

Walk: Walking is by far the best way to get around Barcelona. With almost every street being filled with gorgeous, traditional buildings and cute cafes, walking is the best way to see EVERYTHING! If you are planning on seeing lots of places that are far away from one another, then don’t forget to pack walking shoes or consider public transport. This is obviously the cheapest option, as walking is free!

Bus: Barcelona is FILLED with busses! They run frequently and go just about anywhere in this vibrant city. Using google maps is a great way to get from A to B, and will tell you exactly what bus to get and where to get on and off of it. The busses are €2.20 a single ticket but you can go to the ticket machines and grab yourself a ‘HOLA BCN’ card, which is essentially an unlimited travel card for the bus and metro for which ever time period you select. You can buy this pass for 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours and prices start from €15.20.

Barcelona Pass (Hop-on Hop-off): There is a hop-on, hop-off bus in Barcelona with 45 stops around the city that you can come and go from as you please. The tours include audio commentary in 16 different languages, which provides great information about the city as you go around. Prices are usually €30 per adult for one day access.

Metro: There is a vast metro line in Barcelona with stops near all of the popular tourist spots. With 12 metro lines in total, it’s a great way to get around and also one of the fastest options. You can use the ‘HOLA BCN’ card, which is a great way to save money if you plan on using the metro or bus several times throughout the day. You can buy this pass for 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours and prices start from €15.20. Otherwise, single metro tickets are €2.20.

Taxi: There are taxis dotted all over the city, so just wave one over and ask for the price for your chosen destination. This option is the most expensive, but also the comfiest and most relaxing!
